“Start telling the stories that only you can tell, because there’ll always be better writers than you and there’ll always be smarter writers than you. There will always be people who are much better at doing this or doing that - but you are the only you.” ~ Neil Gaiman

Hello and Hello!

Oh my gosh, things are busy here at the Toymaker's workshop. I am spinning along on The Mysterious Math Carnival. I working hard to get it finished as soon as can be!

Haunted Histories is doing well the world around. Co-author and illustrator J. H. Everett and I did a presentation last Sunday at the Mission Viejo Readers Festival that was great fun. We talked about "The Ghostorian Question" which isn't "who did what", or "what happened", but rather why did people do things they way they did. That's what is interesting about history... not names, dates and places, but asking the reasons why things happened a certain way and making connections.

So as the days grow shorter and turn cooler, I hope that you can curl up with a good book, go for a brisk walk, drink some cocoa, pop some popcorn and find time to make some paper toys with someone special.

Best thoughts,
Marilyn

"Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays, and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants, or dragons: it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted."
