The Toymaker
By Sandy Berger
This charming website will help you make beautiful paper toys for your children, grandchildren, kids in the neighborhood, or anyone with an appreciation for the whimsical. As a matter of fact, once you see the toys you can make, you'll be looking for others with whom you can share the fun. This site was created by Marilyn Scott-Waters whose welcome says it all: "Welcome to my odd, little world of paper toys, holiday cards, valentines, sun boxes, baskets and bags, origami and ephemera...all for you to make. It is my wish to amuse and delight. Enjoy, Marilyn."
You will want to look through the entire website, but be sure not to miss the "Free Toys" section. It includes precious printable templates for spinners, sun boxes, a flower gift bag, a bug box, a tooth fairy gazebo, and much, much more. The Holiday section is filled with wonderful printable cards, gift boxes, and paper dolls. All are free.
Great sayings and quotes are scattered through the website. Ms. Scott-Waters says her goal is "Abrideri et Oblectare" — to amuse and delight. I can't think of a better word to describe this site than "delightful."
